Our editorial mission
Criqly is an independent cricket platform. We publish live scores, match reports, statistical analysis, fantasy guidance, and learning content for cricket fans, clubs, and players worldwide. Our editorial mission is to give every match — from an IPL final to a club Sunday league — the same accuracy, attribution, and care. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage and we do not let advertising influence what we cover or how we cover it.
Where our data comes from
We lead with official sources and only fall back to aggregators when we have to.
- Primary sources. Host-board feeds (BCCI / Sportz.io for IPL and Indian domestic; ECB for English cricket; Cricket Australia for BBL and internationals on Australian soil; PCB, CSA, NZC, BCB, SLC, CWI for their home tournaments) provide our scorecards and ball-by-ball data wherever they are publicly available.
- ICC + Cricsheet. The ICC tournament feeds and the open Cricsheet data archive back-fill matches not covered by host boards.
- Aggregators. Cricbuzz, ESPNcricinfo, and other commercial feeds are used only when an official source is not available, and we attribute them in every article that quotes them.
- Club & league data. Live scoring for amateur leagues comes from our own ball-by-ball scoring tool used by scorers we have approved. We do not import unverified amateur data from third parties.
Fact-checking
Every number you read in a match report has to clear an automated gate before it can be published.
Match reports are checked against the same scorecard data that powered the live game. Team totals, individual batter and bowler figures, and victory margins are extracted from the draft and compared to ground truth before the article can be marked ready for publication. If any cited number does not match what we have on file, the draft is rejected and rewritten. We would rather hold an article for a few hours than publish a scoreline that does not match the scorecard.
Opinion and analysis pieces go through human editorial review. We try to make it obvious when a statement is opinion (“in our view”, “arguably”) versus fact (“Pandey scored 45 off 33 balls”).
How we use AI
We use AI assistance to draft, never to replace the editor.
Some Criqly articles are drafted with the help of large language models — typically short match reports and daily roundups — and then reviewed by a human editor before publication. We disclose this on every article that involves AI assistance, both with a visible “Editor's note” on the page and with structured metadata (article:reviewed_by) that aggregators and search engines can read.
- What AI does for us. Drafts a first pass of a match report from the scorecard data we already have.
- What AI does not do. Invent numbers, opine on players' futures, comment on injuries or off-field matters, or publish without human review.
- Sensitive topics. Anything touching injury, retirement, transfer, contract dispute, doping, or controversy is held for a human editor automatically — no AI draft on those subjects ever auto-publishes.
Corrections policy
Found something wrong? Tell us, we will fix it.
If you spot a factual error in any of our articles or scorecards, email editorial@criqly.com with the article URL, the line you believe is wrong, and the source you would use to correct it. We aim to respond within one working day. Substantive corrections are disclosed inline at the bottom of the article so the record is transparent.
