1. Who we are

Criqly (also referred to as “TheCricketer”, “we”, “us”) operates the website and apps that provide live cricket scores, fantasy cricket, club and league management, scoring tools, news, and learning content. You can reach us at our contact page.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password hash, avatar, preferred language, and authentication provider (e.g. Google).
  • Cricket activity: teams and clubs you belong to, matches you score or watch, fantasy selections, helpdesk messages.
  • Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and referrers — collected via cookies and server logs.
  • Payment data: if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

3. How we use your information

  • To run your account, authenticate you, and keep sessions secure.
  • To deliver live scoring, fantasy, and club features.
  • To send transactional email (password reset, match invites, subscription receipts).
  • To measure product usage and improve the site (only with your analytics consent — see the cookie policy).
  • To show advertising via Google AdSense (only with your advertising consent). When consent is denied we either show non-personalised ads or none at all.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

  • Contract — to provide the services you sign up for.
  • Consent — for analytics cookies, personalised ads, and marketing email.
  • Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, security, and basic product analytics where consent is not required.
  • Legal obligation — tax and accounting records for paid subscriptions.

5. Third-party services we share data with

  • Google — AdSense (ads), Analytics (if enabled), and Sign-in with Google. Google’s use of cookies and data is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • Stripe — for subscription payments.
  • Pusher — for real-time live-scoring broadcasts.
  • Cloudflare R2 — for file and media storage.
  • Email providers (Microsoft Graph / Gmail API / SMTP) — to send transactional email.
  • Cricket data providers (RapidAPI / CricAPI) — for international match data we display.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies for authentication and session state. With your consent we also use analytics and advertising cookies. See the cookie policy for the full list and how to change your choices at any time.

7. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal or accounting reasons (typically 7 years for invoices). Server logs are rotated after 90 days.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us via the contact page. We respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Criqly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

We are a remote-first team and our service providers are located in the US, EU, UK, and India. Where data crosses borders we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by our vendors.

11. Security

We use TLS for all traffic, bcrypt for password storage, JWT sessions, and role-based access controls for administrative features. No system is perfectly secure; if you discover a vulnerability please report it responsibly via the contact page.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

13. Contact

Questions, data requests, or complaints: use our contact page. EU users also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.
